G20 - Movie Review

I know this movie has been out since April, but I finally got around to watching it tonight with my Auntie.

I enjoyed it, but it wasn't anything that we haven't seen before. You have your typical moody teen, who's also a hacker. Your typical bad guy doing a heist of sorts.

Viola did the damn thing and they gave an excuse for her signature walk. 😂

The action was decent, not high-octane, but fast paced. There isn't any boring moments, at least not for me.

Bonus being that it was nice to see a black woman as president and the first family.

FINAL VERDICT: INNOCENT LIKE A BABY SPITTING UP ON YOU AND THEN SMILING. The little, adorable bastard. Anyway, movie, you're free to go. Bailiff, show Madam President to her Beast Limo.

Spoiler if you want to read my thoughts on something that happened. I go pretty deep with it.

At the end, of course the villain has her husband hostage as a way to lure her there to give him what he wants.

And she does when the villain threatens to kill her husband if she doesn't. And I said she was wrong for that. And my Aunt asked why? And I said she took an oath to defend the American ppl. To lead us. And she traded the livelihoods of every American for her husband's life when it wasn't even guaranteed. Nor was the victory certain. But she wasn't the only one. All the other world leaders gave in except 1.

This is something that happens in movies and TV shows ALL OF THE TIME, and it actually pisses me off. It's understandable when the stakes are just about you and your family, and you're a regular person. I can see that deal being made with fingers crossed.

But it's different when many lives are at risk if you choose selfishly. Also, you don't even know if the villain will keep their word and even if they do, you don't know if you and yours will even survive what the villain's damn plan is. Like handing over the nuclear codes, but they do that in shows all the time using hostages.

It's just a pet peeve of mine. I actually respect those characters who do make the hard choices even when the other characters criticize them for being heartless. One of the reasons I liked Rogue One and the male lead so much. He was about that life. Sacrificing the few for the many for the greater good. Not the other way around.
