I really enjoyed the first Accountant movie and this one was a decent sequel.
As you all know, I love me some Jon Bernthal, so already the movie had a good start.
But it's not without its flaws. I felt it dragged a bit. Mainly when it focuses on characters that didn't really add anything of substance to the movie. I felt like the female cop could have been cut all together and the movie would have improved. I'm sorry, but in this day and age, I'm past wanting to see the "honorable cop who doesn't step outside of the law". Maybe I'm too jaded by reality for that.
I just wanted the movie to focus on the brothers doing what they did best. They didn't need her there to be some kind of moral compass or foil.
The female assassin, eh, could have done without her too because her role didn't really matter to the story's main plot which was trafficking.
I also felt like Jon's character intro went on a bit too long trying to showcase that he's not all there either. We get it, keep it moving.
What I did enjoy was the bonding between the brothers, the action and humor that wasn't forced. I would have liked to have more action throughout, but I still had a good time.
FINAL VERDICT: INNOCENT until proven guilty, but I'm watching you. Bailiff, you can set this movie free.
