I originally wrote this exact review back in 2018 before I started this blog. I saw it's on Netflix now and wanted to ppl to check it out. So, here it is.
Okay... Brawl in Cell Block 99 ain't playing with our asses. It's not pulling one fucking punch. Thank goodness it's free on Amazon Prime, because it needs to be seen.
Now, this movie is NOT for the faint of heart. It's brutal as hell and gory. It's holds no bars through and through. It's also staring a man that I didn't believe could really pull this type of role off, but I stand all the way corrected.
Vince Vaughn is the lead character in this gritty prison thriller. He's been put in a position where he has to get ugly and boy, he gets uglier than a turd with corn in it.
I've cringed and shouted and made all the "gat damn!" faces I can make and I'm still shaking my head.
I could watch this again with more people. It'll be a rush.
FINAL VERDICT : INNOCENT! This may be a film about a guilty man going to prison, but it's a damn entertaining film. My only complaint is the special effect at the end. I have to fine the film $200, 000 for that one. Other than that, set this motherfucker free!
